Dentail AI and Entteri Receive National Product Development Award in Finland
Our AI radiograph analysis, deployed through Entteri's Romexis Image Cloud, has won Finland's 2025 Product Development Path Makers Award — recognised for a go-to-market model that puts clinical AI directly into dental workflows at no cost.
Our AI dental X-ray analysis technology, developed in close partnership with Entteri Professional Software Oy, has been recognised with Finland's 2025 Product Development Path Makers Award. The Ekman Award — selected by public vote — was presented on 10 December 2025 at Aalto Design Factory Stage in Espoo, placing Entteri alongside other 2025 winners including Saab, Betolar, and Uute Scientific.
About the Award
The Product Development Path Makers Award, now in its second year, is granted jointly by Aalto Design Factory, Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland (TEK), the City of Espoo, Technology Industries of Finland, the Chemical Industry Federation of Finland, TT-säätiö, and the Finnish Forest Industries. It recognises organisations whose product development opens new commercial pathways or introduces novel business models in their industry.
The Technology and Partnership
Working alongside Entteri Professional Software Oy — part of the Finnish Planmeca Group, one of the world's leading dental equipment manufacturers with a EUR 1.2 billion combined turnover and over 4,400 employees worldwide — Dentail AI brought AI-powered radiograph analysis to the Romexis Image Cloud platform.
The solution analyses dental X-rays within seconds, detecting caries, periapical pathology, marginal bone loss, calculus, and more — and is available at no cost to all Romexis Image Cloud subscribers. In Finland, over half of all private-sector dental clinics already store their Romexis databases and images on this platform, meaning the AI reached real clinical workflows without the procurement friction that typically slows adoption of new medical software.
A New Model for Introducing Clinical AI
The award jury specifically highlighted the go-to-market model. Rather than pursuing high-value contracts from the outset, the partnership chose to make AI analysis freely available to an existing subscriber base — letting clinicians experience the technology within their actual workflows, generate real feedback, and build confidence before any paid upgrade path is introduced.
This go-to-market initiative demonstrates how business model experimentation can serve as a product development tool, especially when introducing new technology categories in established, and often conservative, professional sectors. By initially offering the technology free of charge, Entteri has created conditions for extensive testing and feedback collection.
Award jury, 2025 Product Development Path Makers Award
Topi Koskinen, Business Director at Entteri, said: "We are honoured that our work has been recognised with the award. This acknowledgment strengthens our commitment to developing digital solutions that support dental professionals in their daily work."
The Second Award of 2025
This recognition follows an earlier honour: the Dentistry Innovation Award, granted by the Finnish Fair Foundation earlier in 2025. Two national awards within a single year reflect genuine industry recognition of how AI and thoughtful commercialisation can begin to reshape clinical diagnostics in dentistry.
Looking Ahead
Adoption data from Finnish clinics is now informing both continued product development and Entteri's international expansion strategy. Paid advanced features are planned, with the existing free user base — covering a majority of Finland's private-sector dental clinics — serving as both validation and foundation for global rollout. For Dentail AI, this recognition affirms our core conviction: clinical-grade AI earns trust through performance, not promises.
